The game is a direct adaptation of the 1929 classic, All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque, albeit with a number of changes and alterations. Now turned into a condensed, text-based experience, it serves as an official entry to the Gaming Like It's 1929 game jam, after the English version of the novel entered the public domain last January 2025.

This adaptation of the novel is extremely short and bite-sized, where it only features key moments derived from the novel.
